The short version: MedSchoolZone is a paid subscription. Your first 7 days cost $29, then it renews at $97 per week until you cancel. The notes are licensed to you personally, so please don't share or resell them. You can cancel any time from your account, and we offer a money-back guarantee during your first 7 days.
The Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legally binding agreement between you and MedSchoolZone ("we," "our," or "us"). They cover your use of medschoolzone.com, your customer account, and the digital study materials we provide (together, the "Service").
By creating an account, starting a trial, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
Eligibility
To use MedSchoolZone you must:
- Be at least 16 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, whichever is higher).
- Be able to enter into a legally binding contract under the law that applies to you. If you're under 18, you confirm a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
- Provide accurate, current information when you sign up, and keep it up to date.
- Not be barred from using digital services under any applicable law or sanctions regime.
Your Account
You're responsible for keeping your account credentials safe and for everything that happens under your account. If you suspect your account has been accessed by someone else, contact us right away.
Each subscription is for a single named user. You may not share your login, your downloaded files, or your access with anyone else, including classmates, study groups, family members, or colleagues. PDFs you download may be watermarked with information identifying your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts where we detect sharing or other suspicious activity.
What We Provide
The Service gives you access to a library of high-yield medical study notes in PDF format, along with related study aids such as illustrations, mnemonics, cheat sheets, flashcards, and study schedule templates. Specific contents may change over time as we add, update, or retire materials.
While your subscription is active you can:
- Download any current notes in the library.
- Use them on your personal devices for your own study.
- Receive updates and new content as we publish it.
- Contact our support team for help.
If your subscription ends, you'll lose access to download new or updated materials. Files you've already downloaded remain on your device, but the licence to use them is governed by section 8.
Subscription & Billing
MedSchoolZone is a recurring subscription service. By subscribing you authorise us (and our payment processor) to charge your chosen payment method on the schedule below until you cancel.
How billing works
- Initial charge: $29 USD when you sign up, which gives you full access for the first 7 days.
- Recurring charge: $97 USD per week, starting on day 8, and continuing every 7 days for as long as your subscription remains active.
- Currency & taxes: prices are in USD unless stated otherwise. Where applicable, sales tax, VAT, or similar local taxes may be added at checkout.
- Payment method: billing is handled by a third-party payment processor. We don't store your full card number ourselves.
- Failed payments: if a payment fails, we may retry it for a short period. If it keeps failing, your access may be suspended until payment succeeds.
Price changes
We may change subscription prices from time to time. If we do, we'll give you advance notice by email and let you know when the new price takes effect on your next billing cycle. If you don't agree to the new price, you can cancel before the change takes effect.
Free Trial
Some sign-ups include a discounted introductory period (the "Trial") at $29 for 7 days. The Trial gives you full access during that period.
- The Trial begins the moment your initial payment is processed.
- At the end of the Trial, your subscription automatically converts to the standard $97/week rate unless you've cancelled.
- You can cancel any time during the Trial from your account settings or by contacting us. Cancelling during the Trial stops the conversion to the weekly rate.
- You're only eligible for one Trial per person. We may refuse a Trial if we believe you're trying to claim multiple Trials with different accounts.
If you're a consumer in the EU or UK, you may have a statutory right to withdraw from a contract for digital content within 14 days. By starting your Trial and accessing the notes, you expressly request immediate access and acknowledge that you lose this right of withdrawal once the digital content has been supplied. You can still cancel your subscription at any time as described in section 7.
Cancellation & Refunds
How to cancel
You can cancel your subscription at any time:
- From your customer account, or
- By emailing our support team through the contact page.
When you cancel, you keep your access until the end of your current billing period. After that, your subscription stops and you won't be charged again.
Refunds
- During the 7-day Trial: if you cancel and ask for a refund within your first 7 days, we'll refund your $29 in full. No questions asked.
- After the Trial: cancelling stops future weekly charges. We don't automatically refund unused portions of a weekly billing cycle, but if you contact us and explain your situation, we'll review on a case-by-case basis.
- Processing time: approved refunds are processed within 1-3 business days. Depending on your bank, the funds may take an additional 3-5 business days to appear in your account.
Your Licence To Use The Notes
Subject to your compliance with these Terms and to your subscription remaining in good standing, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to access and use the notes and other materials we make available, solely for your own personal study and exam preparation.
You may:
- Download notes to your personal devices (phone, tablet, computer).
- Print copies for your own study.
- Annotate them in apps like GoodNotes, Notability, or similar.
- Quote short excerpts in your own personal study notes (with credit to MedSchoolZone).
You may not:
- Share, send, distribute, sell, sublicense, or rent the notes to anyone else.
- Post the notes (or substantial portions of them) to file-sharing sites, social media, study-resource marketplaces, cloud drives accessible to others, or anywhere else they could be accessed by people who haven't paid us.
- Remove, alter, hide, or tamper with any watermark, copyright notice, branding, or other identifying marks.
- Use the notes to develop a competing product or service.
- Use the notes to train, fine-tune, or improve any machine-learning model, artificial-intelligence system, or generative-content tool, unless we give you written permission first.
- Decompile, reverse-engineer, or otherwise attempt to extract the underlying source materials.
- Use any automated system (scrapers, bots, etc.) to access or download materials in bulk.
If your subscription ends or these Terms are terminated, the licence ends. You must stop using the materials and delete any copies in your possession.
Intellectual Property
All content we provide (including notes, illustrations, mnemonics, layout, design, branding, logos, code, and any other material we create) is owned by MedSchoolZone or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you. Your subscription gives you a licence to use the materials as described in section 8, not ownership.
Acceptable Use
When you use the Service, you agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or in any way that infringes someone else's rights.
- Try to gain unauthorised access to our systems, other accounts, or any part of the Service that's not made available to you.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service, our servers, or our networks (including denial-of-service attacks, scraping, or excessive automated requests).
- Upload or transmit malware, viruses, or any code designed to damage or interfere with computer systems.
- Misrepresent your identity, affiliation, or eligibility.
- Harass, threaten, or abuse our staff, support team, or other users.
- Use the Service in any way that breaches export controls, sanctions, or other applicable laws.
We may suspend or terminate your account and cancel your subscription if we reasonably believe you've broken these rules. Where we do this for cause, you may not be eligible for a refund.
Your Feedback
We love hearing from customers. If you send us suggestions, content requests, error reports, or other feedback ("Feedback"), you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, modify, and incorporate your Feedback into the Service without any obligation to you. We won't use your name in connection with your Feedback without your permission.
Educational Use Only: Not Medical Advice
This is the most important section. Please read it carefully.
By using MedSchoolZone you understand and agree that:
- The notes are for educational and exam-preparation purposes only. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, and should not be relied on for clinical decision-making.
- Medicine evolves. Guidelines, drug doses, treatment protocols, and best practices change. Although we work hard to keep the notes accurate and current, you must always verify clinical information against current authoritative sources before applying it to a real patient.
- We do not guarantee that using the notes will result in passing any examination, achieving any particular score, securing residency or employment, or any other career or academic outcome. Outcomes depend on many factors outside our control, including your own effort, study habits, prior knowledge, and exam performance.
- If you are a patient, the notes are not a substitute for advice from a qualified healthcare professional. Always consult your own doctor about any health concerns.
Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service and all materials are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. In particular, we do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
- The notes are accurate, complete, current, or fit for any particular purpose, including clinical use.
- Any defects in the Service will be corrected.
- Files you download will be free of viruses or other harmful components.
Some jurisdictions don't allow certain warranties to be excluded. If a warranty can't be excluded under the law that applies to you, the exclusion above doesn't apply to that warranty, but the rest of these Terms still apply in full.
Limitation Of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, loss of opportunity, loss of goodwill, exam failure, missed academic deadlines, or harm caused by reliance on the notes for clinical decisions.
- Our total aggregate liability to you under or in connection with these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim.
- Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you, including (where applicable) liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that under your local consumer-protection laws cannot be excluded.
If you're a consumer, the law in your home country may give you rights that override these limitations. Nothing in this section affects those rights.
Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and hold MedSchoolZone harmless from any third-party claims, damages, losses, and reasonable legal costs arising out of or related to:
- Your use of the Service in breach of these Terms.
- Your sharing, redistribution, or other unauthorised use of the notes.
- Any harm caused by your use of the notes for clinical decisions or other non-educational purposes.
- Your violation of any law or third-party right.
Termination
By you: you can cancel your subscription at any time as described in section 7.
By us: we may suspend or terminate your account and these Terms, immediately and without notice, if:
- You materially breach these Terms (for example, sharing your account, redistributing the notes, or breaking the acceptable-use rules).
- Your payments repeatedly fail.
- We're required to do so by law.
- We discontinue the Service (in which case, where reasonable, we'll give you advance notice and a pro-rata refund of any unused portion you've prepaid).
Sections that are intended to survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law) will remain in effect after these Terms end.
Changes To These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do:
- We'll change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
- For changes that materially affect your rights or obligations, we'll give you reasonable advance notice by email or via a notice on the site.
- If you continue to use the Service after the changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you don't agree, you should stop using the Service and cancel your subscription before the changes take effect.
Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of them (including non-contractual disputes) are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction to hear any disputes.
Before starting a formal dispute, please contact us. We'll always try to resolve issues informally and quickly.
General
- Entire agreement. These Terms (together with our Privacy Policy and any other policies we link to) form the entire agreement between you and us about the Service, and replace any earlier agreements.
- No waiver. If we don't enforce a right or term right away, that doesn't mean we've given it up.
- Severability. If a court finds any part of these Terms unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
- Assignment. You may not transfer your account or your rights under these Terms to anyone else without our written permission. We may transfer our rights and obligations to a successor (for example in a merger, acquisition, or restructuring), and we'll let you know if we do.
- Force majeure. We're not liable for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control (for example outages of third-party infrastructure, natural disasters, or government actions).
- No third-party rights. No one other than you and us has any rights to enforce these Terms.
